Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong is honoured with the Le Chan Award

Attending the ceremony were: Mr Do Manh Hien – deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee; Ms Dao Khanh Ha – head of the Municipal Party Committee's Propaganda Board; Mr Le Anh Quan - member of the Standing Board of the Municipal Party Committee, party secretary and chairman of the People's Committee of An Duong district; Mr Le Khac Nam – vice-chairman of the Municipal People's Committee, together with former leaders of the Municipal Women's Union from across the years.

At the ceremony, the delegates looked back together on the glorious tradition of the Vietnam Women's Union in general and of the Hai Phong Women's Union in particular. Over 90 years, under the leadership of the Party, the Vietnam Women's Union has grown without pause into a broad socio-political organisation, rallying women of every walk of life to build on the tradition of patriotism and solidarity and to give their talent, their minds and their blood to the struggle for national independence and to building and defending the country. At the same time, the Union has taken long strides on the road to establishing an equal standing for Vietnamese women.

In recognition of the outstanding achievements of the city's Women's Union at every level, the Municipal Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee and Fatherland Front Committee presented the Municipal Women's Union with a banner reading "The officers and members of the Hai Phong Women's Union: united and renewing for equality and development"; the chairman of the Municipal People's Committee presented certificates of merit to 40 groups and individuals for outstanding achievements in the Union's work and emulation movement over the 2015 – 2020 period.

In particular, at the ceremony, 8 outstanding women of the Port City were presented with the 2019 Le Chan Award by the Municipal People's Committee. The "Le Chan Award" is a distinguished award that honours, recognises, encourages and fosters the creative potential of women with outstanding achievements in production, study and work, who bring great benefit to the community and society and who make a worthy contribution to building, defending and developing the city of Hai Phong and to the advancement of the city's women.

Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong - general director of Vilaco JSC was honoured to receive this distinguished award. The Le Chan Award has been presented since 2006 to honour women of the Port City with outstanding achievements across every field and in the emulation movement of the Hai Phong Women's Union. Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong graduated from Hanoi Law University and completed CEO and MBA programmes at the National Economics University. She has experience in OEM work, import and export, brand building and human resource development, as well as a thorough knowledge of the cleaning products field. Ms Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong is currently general director of Vilaco JSC and, at the same time, vice-president of the Hai Phong Businesswomen's Association.

Vilaco JSC was founded in 2003 and has grown strongly from a small company into a substantial one, with charter capital of 26 billion dong and 255 staff. In running production and business, Ms Huong has introduced many initiatives and improvements that raise productivity, quality and efficiency.
